Back to Aulus
During the spring season of 1230 while conducting his Quaesitorial duties, Aulus came across a Gifted boy who was being held to perform lab activities but not being given the proper training. The magus in question 'acquired' the boy from an Iberian slave trader after recognizing why they were trying to sell him off - his Gift caused others to shun him and his intelligence put off most people who were used to dealing with the dull-witted who didn't ask too many questions.
Noting that without Opening the Gift, the boy could be taken away because he was not officially an apprentice. This is exactly what Aulus did. While the magus objected, Aulus threatened with bringing him before Tribunal on charges that he was misusing a Gifted individual without training.
Ysabelo is wary of his new master, though Aulus doesn't give off the 'creepy' vibes that his previous master did. The covenant was oddly constructed with exotic materials used in the buildings but many of the magi there didn't send his spine shivering as many magi did. He is now learning a great deal about the Order from Aulus and Jasmine, who view the wayward youth with some pity and have decided to correct his abusive upbringing.
