Probationary Period Service

Due to charter requirements, new magi are required to provide four seasons out of their seven season probationary period. Activities in italics count towards fulfilling the four seasons of service required.

What is Service?

The following activities count as seasons of service towards fulfilling Charter requirements:

• Setting up a lab (1 season for a basic lab, 2 seasons for a full lab)
• Learning Wizard's Commune (MuVi Gen) spell at any level
• Learning Aegis of the Hearth (ReVi Gen) ritual at level 20 or higher
• Learning The Bountiful Feast (ReHe 35) ritual
• Creating any spell, Ritual or Formulaic, that protects or enhances the resources of the covenant or village and contributing it to the library
• Creating any enchantment that protects or enhances the resources of the covenant or village and contributing it to the covenant or village
• Writing a book on any Art or Arcane ability and contributing it to the library
• Extracting vis from the Aura and contributing it to the covenant
• Anything the Council decides counts as a season of service (the catch-all), which includes such activities as:
  • Attending to a problem that the covenant faces
  • Responding to a Hermetic call that takes significant time
  • Acquiring a non-recurring amount of vis and donating it the covenant stores (minimum 4 pawns)
  • Learning a new Ritual which protects or enhances the resources of the covenant or village, which you will cast during the annual renewal of the Aegis of the Hearth and The Bountiful Feast
