Where Rivers Run With Gold

After the Celebration of the Five Armies each of you spent the winter honing your skills and waiting for the first signs of spring so that you could set forth on a new adventure. It is now Astron 17 (April 8) and as promised you all gather in Dale and proceed to Long Lake. On the journey to Escaroth you are approached by a young boy yelling, “Help! Please help! My father – his guards – they’re going to kill him! We’re going to Mirkwood and they’re going to kill him! He told me to run! Find help! Help!” Upon investigation you find that the boy’s father is being threatened by the sons of Grimarr the Friendly, Jonar, Kelmund and Finnar. After a very brief struggle you convince the brothers it is in the best interest to leave but not before Jonar say, “I will remember you.” The man you rescued introduced himself as Baldor Rivergold and his son as Belgo Rivergold. He was so impressed and happy with your rescue that he offered you a job protecting his caravan through Mirkwood along the Elf Path. He promised to pay you in coin (2 points of treasure each) once they reach the Forest Gate.

The Edge Of The Woodland Realm

After agreeing to escort Baldor and his son along the Elf Path you meet him 3 days later outside of Esgaroth and set out on your journey. At the edge of the Elven kingdom you are met by elves on rafts. They take you up river to the Elven Halls, a journey that takes several days. Baldor is met by Lindar, Master of the King’s Cellars. Unfortunately, Lindar didn’t trust you so you were kept waiting with the supplies for 3 days. After the 3rd day you are joined again by Baldor and his son and the journey begins again.

- Part Three -

The Long Road

After leaving the Elven Halls you are escorted to the Enchanted Stream that crosses the Elf Path by a group of Elves. That journey takes a little over 4 days. There they ferry you across the Enchanted Stream and bid you safe journeys. Baldor estimates that if there are no complications it will take you 26 days to reach the Forest Gate from that point. You traveled for about 5 days since leaving the Enchanted Stream and have stopped for the night in a large clearing which Adonniel (Karen) has told you was once an open-air feast hall for the elves. It is now Thrimidge 7 (April 28). This is where the story will pick up in the next game.
