The adventure begins with the Fellowship having all arrived in Rhosgobel after a long and difficult journey around the southern edge of Mirkwood. The reason for them being there, Radagast the Brown, is no where to be found. So the party settles in and waits for the wizard to return. In the mean time the annual hunt has been called to supply the village with meat through the winter and the Fellowship is invited. The dwarf, being the dwarf that he is, decides to take the boastful woodsmen up on their little hunting challenge. It isn’t long after the hunt starts that the party is separated and spread out. After chasing down a deer the dunedain (Adam) hears a baying of horns and a sound of clashing metal. The party in the vicinity investigates and finds that a group of woodsmen are under attack by goblins. The Fellowship’s arrival is just in time to save the woodsmen from being overrun. After the goblins are dispatched the Fellowship makes its way back to Rhosgobel with the injured woodsmen. It is then that Radagast the Brown shows up. After explaining the attack and showing him the letter from Gandalf, Radagast asks if the Fellowship might once more be tasked with an important mission to deliver a letter to the Elven-King. They all agree and set out for the Halls of the Elven-King. After a long and uneventful journey they are stopped on the Elven Path by a group of Elves that appeared to know about their message and mission.

LM: How they knew was that Radagast sent birds to the Halls of the Elven-King to tell them of your mission and its importance.

The Fellowship was blindfolded and lead to a sanctuary deep inside Northern Mirkwood, not even the elves of the Fellowship have been there before. They were asked to wait for a messenger from the King. A messenger arrived from the King and he started questioning the Fellowship, who I might add were being a little difficult. It was then that the messenger revealed that he was actually Thranduil, King of the Mirkwood Elves. Of course that didn’t impress the dwarf who kept back talking the King but good die rolls prevailed and the party convinced him to help the Woodsmen. They actually convinced him to come in person with his personal guard including Legolas. Thus began the journey back to the Woodsmen realm. Radagast believed that the attack would come against the Woodsmen Hall where a powerful artifact was housed. The Woodsmen forces and the Elven forces converged on the Woodsmen Hall. The Fellowship was invited to attend the war meeting since they had played such an important part in getting the Elves to help. It was then decided that the city would be defended from inside the palisades and that the Fellowship would be used to plug any breach that might occur. After about an hour of battle the gate closest to the Woodsmen Hall was breached and the Fellowship sprang into action with Lissriel (Lisa), Adonnriel (Karen) and Theodwin (Mark) providing deadly accurate archery support and Ulrik (Tim), Dindraug (Adam) and Aegir (Ben) taking the orcs and goblins head on. The wizard was no where to be found but during the battle a white stag appeared and time seemed to speed up. Every so often the Fellowship would see an orc or goblin disappear as if being plucked off the ground by some large winged form. As the sun broke over the horizon the goblins and orcs routed. It was a huge victory for the Woodsmen and the Elves. The Fellowship then accompanied the Elven-King back and will find themselves in Dale for the Gathering of Five Armies Celebration that starts in late November, 2946.
