Rolling!

Viae Rolls

Viae attacks are a 1d100 +50 attack. Essentially, using a viae grants the character a +50 bonus to their action. Viae attacks do 5d10 damage, which can be split between targets.

This can also be stacked on a normal attack. For example, a character with a path in fire may spend a viae to make their sword a flaming weapon, and will add their Viae attack and damage to their normal attack and damage for the weapon.

Viaes can be used for defense. This is a roll of 1d100 + 50 as well, and is equally stackable with other defenses, like armor. Failed rolls still reduce damage by 2d10.

Healing with Viaes

Viaes can also be used to self-heal. A character who wishes to self-heal can burn a viae. The spent viae will allow 10d10 +(1d10 x Tox) hit points to be regained.

Special Conditions in Rolls

50 Split When the roll off results in one character winning by a difference of 50 or more this is called a 50 Split. In this condition, if the attacker wins, the number of dice is doubled for damage. If the defender wins, half of the normal damage from the attacker’s roll falls back on the attacker instead of on the defender.

100 Split When the roll off results in one character winning by a difference of 100 or more this is called a 100 Split. In this condition, if the attacker wins, the number of dice is tripled for damage. If the defender wins, the full amount of normal damage from the attacker’s roll OR the defender’s attack (whichever is better) falls back on the attacker instead of on the defender.

Cadeaux (Divine Gifts a.k.a. XP)

Cadeaux, or divine gifts, from an angel’s patron diety, are our system of awarding experience.

One major cadeau is equal to three minor cadeaux. Each character starts play with a free major cadeau. Increasing character stats or adding items will either cost a minor cadeau for small increases, or a major cadeau for large increases.

Example Uses of Major Cadeaux

• Augment an attack – make one of your rolled d10’s for damage automatically a 10 • Augment an attack – gain exploding d10’s (re roll any 10’s for more damage) • Augment your defense – add 1d10 damage reduction to yourself or an item • Increase a stat by one full level, or by ½ level if above Angelic. • Add an extra viae use per day • Add a new related Aspect to your Viae • Use two major cadeaux to gain a new unrelated Viae Aspect

Or… use a Major Cadeau to Break a Rule with GM discretion. Examples include: gaining wings, new awesome items, making an item an Artifact (i.e. unbreakable, etc.)… whatever you can think of that meets GM approval!

Uses for Minor Cadeaux

• Increase a borderline stat to the next level • Expand or alter an aspect (like turning “rain” into “water”) • Add +5 or 1d10 to attacks or damage from a certain item • Gain a Major Cadeau effect once per encounter, or for one encounter a day • Gain +5 Hit Points
