Description

Standing five feet, eight inches, he is well cut as though from marble, reminding many women (and sometimes men) of a Greek statue with straight hair. His stance is typically a little slouched, but he moves with a grace only seen in gymnasts and martial artists. Or big cats.

The sun reflects off his hair in a golden shine, matched only by his dazzling white smile.

Background

John hails from the "Bible Belt" of America originally, but has been in California long enough that what little accent he had has long since been erased. Both his parents are veterinarians, his father in large animal and his mother in small animal. John became a doctor not out of wanting to help people, but to make his parents proud of him.

The Doctor's Bitchin' Ride

1969 Pontiac GTO "Judge"

Evan's car, the "Judge". The idling of it's engine sounds like the growling of a jungle cat, the roar of the open throttle more akin to a great bear just before it charges. It eagerly chases down those it finds to be it's enemies or prey. During a chase, it corners as easily as any street racer and it's acceleration finds new heights, twisting the entire vehicle onto it's rear axle in it's glee to hunt.

The GTO itself was the brainchild of three men. Russell Gee, Bill Collins and John DeLorean (yes, that DeLorean). The 1969 variant was five years in the making of the GTO line, and considered by many to be the culmination of the line, depending on who you talk with of course.

Evans' specific car is of the '69 Pontiac GTO Judge with the Ram Air IV intake, of which there were only five built. This gave the car 370 HP from it's 400 CID V8 big block engine. (canon ends here) In actuality, there were eight of these cars built, as the first three were given to the three designers. This car was the seventh off the line, and it's had a shakey history since.

It passed through five different owners before it came to John's father, each one proclaiming that the car was strange, almost having to wrestle with it to drive it, and that it was a hangar queen. The problems died down a little under Marc's care, who almost seemed to baby the vehicle when it was on the street and in the garage. Marc gave it a few modern tune-ups, boosting it's horsepower to new heights.

When Marc gave the Judge to John as a gift for completing his residency and thus gaining his medical diploma, the car seemed surly as it came to San Fransisco, slow to get to speed and handling sluggishly. In his off-hours from the hospital, John worked on the vehicle in the garage below "Guardian House", adding a sway bar to give it better handling, as well as stiffer shocks. The car mostly stayed in the garage, except on the few weekends the doctor was off duty.

John has since made some more additions to the car, mostly in the trunk and back seat. In a fake floor of the trunk, there's a flip-up containing a lot of medical gear. Considering how often the trunk is opened, John thought it best that the legal stuff be kept there if the police ever got too curious. The rear seat, also in a flip up, is where John keeps his arsenal of weapons against the supernatural. From salt to keep ghosts at bay, to a blessed shotgun loaded with white-phosphorous shells to make a daemon think twice, to a box of .40 caliber silver rounds for the odd werewolf who goes off the reservation.

One night, when John was at a bar, a lone (and cute) female faerie of the Summer Court was being chased by the Wyld Hunt. John took great exception to this, and hopped in his car. Lying in wait along a side street, the girl ran down it, with the Hunt close on her heels. John turned on the car. The engine responded with an enthusiastic roar, the lights flipping up like the eyes of a beast opening. The girl and the hunt stopped in their collective tracks, staring at the car like a herd of deer in it's headlights.

With his foot barely on the gas, the car lurched forward, again and again like a guard dog on a chain begging to be released. John still doesn't know to this day whether it was his foot slipping or the car itself. He finally stomped on the gas, the car's engine roaring loud enough to crack a nearby window as it reared up onto it's rear axle, smoke pealing from the rear tires. It tore after the Wyld Hunt, who were now afraid of this machine and it's driver.

After that chase, the car responded more to John's movements as he was behind the wheel. It was almost as though it were pleased with him. Since then, man and machine have hunted together through the streets of San Francisco. Recently, a gang of fae youths would play chicken with Evans and the car. They have since rued their mistake after the car catching a few of them, and John loading up his shotgun with steel birdshot.
