Liberation of Lycurgos Station
Discovered information: History
- The station was brought to the Calixus Sector as part of the Angevin Crusade (322.M39) as a forward base.
- Contact with the station is lost during the ebb and flow of the Crusade (331.M39) and thought destroyed.
- The station was rediscovered by Rogue Trader Jacoby Meddington (552.M39) and claimed for the Meddington Dynasty.
- By 600.M39, the station is under the effective control of the Imperial Navy.
- Due to litigation (and fights) the Navy never actually paid the "seasure" fee to the Meddington Dynasty.
- A marriage alliance occurs between Rhett Meddington and Noella Drake. (622.M39)
- The last member of the Meddington dynasty is declared lost in the Expanse. (866.M39)
- Control of Lycurgus station, like Port Wander and others, are slowly handed over to civilian authorities as part of Navy restructuring. (~100.M40)
- Severen XIII moves to bring the station closer under the subsector government's direct control. (~750.M40)
Attempts at Recapture
- Strategic Attempt: Lord General Ghanzorik petitions the Astartes to takedown the strategically critical station. The request is turned down.
- Poor Alternative: The Death Spectres Chapter offers to send a team to destroy the Lycurgos station. The Lord General turns down the offer.
- Modest Request: Lord General Ghanzorik attempts a more modest request, petitioning the Astartes to spearhead a landing for Millitarum Troops. The request is turned down.
- The Navy back an attempt to overwhelm and secure a landing of the Lycurgos station. The light cruiser Argonaught is destroyed and several cruisers are crippled before the general retreat is called. No ship ever got close enough to force a docking.
- After a few months of skirmishes, the 1047 Vastyoan attempts an assault by boarding shuttle with orders to secure a beachhead for the 616 Kreig, who had just transferred to Calixus. Despite a valiant attempt by Navy pilots, the few shuttles that survived until landing struck disparate parts of the station. The entire 1047th Vastyoan was marytered. (Dominica has this after-action report.)
About the Station
- The station is in the firm control of the Dominate, under the command of General Frederique Constantine. The Constantine family is known to have been in the Severan court from before the succession.
- The population of the station seems to be reduced to a significant detachment of the Severan Legion and essential dock personnel, without the extra bustle of civilian commerce exchange.
- The station contains Adaptable Manufactorums, able to produce a wide variety of manufactured goods. It appears to have been recently used to create STC pattern lasguns.
- The station, at least at the time of the secession, was considered a typical example of the sanctified Ramilies design. (Like Port Wraith, unlike Port Wander.)
- The station receives regular shuttle shipments of agriculture from Helena II. The station also (reportedly) receives Severan convoys on an irregular, about a weekly basis. Mostly these convoys bring in materials and are loaded with agricultural produce bound for the rest of the Dominate.
- The station has the ability to perform dock repairs for nearly any class of imperial vessel, though none were undergoing service when Redbeard visited.
Missing Meddington
- The Meddington warrant appears to always been carried by the Rogue Trader in a small stasis tube on the belt.
- Killian Meddington, the last recorded Rogue Trader, took up the mantle in 659.M40.
- There is a Meddington residence on Valor Urr. (Has been searched)
- The house remained in waiting for a little over a decade before it was closed up.
- There are records of old merchant holdings on Sepherus Secundus, Iocanthus, and Bront.
- Determined the name of Killian's Navigator (Cassini)
- Killian Meddington is suspected to have disappeared in an unsettled cluster within the Markayn Marches.
