Laramie Twofoot was born on the 13th of Winterfilth in the 1384th year of Shire Reckoning, he was the seventh child and second son of Ingo Twofoot and Amaranth "Amara" (Proudfoot) Twofoot. The Twofoot family have worked pipe-weed farms in the Southfarthings for generations, and if it weren't for Lotho Sackville-Baggins and the even more destructive rise of Sharkey and his ruffians, Laramie may well have stayed a farmer. During Lotho's rise to power, he convinced Ingo to part with some of his land to help pay for medical expenses, which proved disastrous when Lotho filled it with his ruffians and began to prepare the land for industrialization. When Sharkey took over his ruffians seized the rest of the Twofoot lands, and when his older brother Odo Twofoot complained he was sent to the lockholds. When the Knight of Rohan blew the old horn call of Buckland, Larmaie answered bringing his favorite old Mathom, the sword he named Peacebringer. Fighting in the battle of Bywater he made a bit a name for his boldness. The family farms were in poor state when they were taken back from Shakey, and as word of the new king of Arnor came in Laramie became a vocal advocate of requesting aid from the new king to help rebuild the farms destroyed by Sharkey. When word went out that the old Thain was going to Gondor to swear fealty to the new Arnor king, who would be his honor guard was a very political process, and Laramie was chosen for his boldness and views on the need for aid from the king. In his bid to bring hobbit grievances to the king's court, he swore himself to the kings service...
Laramie worked with his father and brothers on the families land when he was old enough out into his adulthood, up until Sharkey's takeover. He is the seventh child of eleven and the second of four boys. Laramie was a proud smoker of his families pipe weed, and fond of telling tales while doing so. In his youth he took a distinct pleasure in visiting the Mathom-house of Michel Delving, and got into the habit of naming the family's Mathoms, and seeking the stories of them, and making them taller when the truth proved rather dull or unknown (as was often the case). He oft would spend his weekends hunting with his younger brother (the third) Gustov, and brother-in-law Baldo Boffin (married to the fourth sister Coreopsis "Corrin"), although when his father started to grow ill he rarely found the time. While many of his siblings have married, Laramie has always been a bit shy around the ladies. After the family farm was seized by Sharkey, he found what work he could (often as a farm hand) to help the family in these hard times.
