House Rules and Choices

For now, these is just the most basic framework. Both GM and players will make the world working together.

World Name: Airth

Shape of the world

The edge of an Island

The world is filled with floating land masses that require great Airships to traverse. Monstrous human-like races live together and interbreed with humans regularly in this world. Despite the floating nature of the landmasses, even exotic land features like hot springs, volcanoes, waterfall-filled rivers, or rainforests can be found scattered across the islands.

Mainlands and Islands

The largest of the floating land masses, colloquially known as mainlands, are quite huge. The longest of them can easily reach hundreds of miles on it's greatest axis. Still, even the most land-locked town on Airth will find itself no further then seventy or eighty miles from skyfall in at least one direction. (This makes them similar to England, New Zealand or Japan). Scattered around and between these mainlands are innumerable islands, many of which are only dozens of miles across.

World History

The world follow a religion very similar to Shintoism, with the weather and terrain dragons often taking the role of local Kami.

The rise of technology has breed competition between Magic and technological Airships. Even the two empires are split in their focuses on technology and magic.

The empires are competing in a way very similar to the colonial powers of Europe, exerting control over the other island, and encouraging proxy wars between the powers. More to add...

The Empire of Britannia is on the rise, its technological airships spread their influence far an wide

The Empire of Atlantia has ruled through magically powered airships for a while.

More to add (expand details of the empires)...

Representative Lands / Countries

Few countries spread beyond the borders of their Islands, and some islands even have multiple smaller competing countries. There are only two true Empires who have maintained control over more than one Island. They are also renown for having performed the almost incomprehensible grand feat of engineering required to connect some of their minor outlying islands with bridges. Each of these bridges is rightfully regarded as a wonder of the world.

Britannia

This mainland is the home of the Eponymous Britannia Empire, the rising power on Airth.

Hispania

A mainland not too far from Britannia most notable for it's very recent and dramatic sinking into the mist, a process which took only a matter of a couple of years. The eponymous kingdom had aspirations, once, of becoming an empire in its own right, but never quite realized that intent. Also the original home of Diego

Puerto Rico

The Hispania name for the island of Diego's last posting as a soldier, located out away from the known Mainlands.

World Threats

The land masses are slowly sinking into the clouds, though some sink with startling suddenness. Some say the world was whole once before parts of it sunk into the unknown below.

World Enigmas

What lies beneath the clouds? Some say it is the land of monsters, others think it is bottomless, optimists think it is a paradise none want to return from.
