New page

== Obligation vs. Duty ==
Just to provide a little bit of analysis, as I see it: <br />
Taking Obligation game effect allows us to have more of a 'debt' effect with TLB, as well as more easily connecting to other sources. In this relationship, TLB's often 'intangible' benefits of authorization / passes / et al come with a very real cost. It also means that getting help from our TLB friends is likely going to cost us something - in money, services or otherwise. Not unlike going to get help from your Hutt buddy. At the same time, obligation also means we are less 'tied' to TLB - we could go several episodes without directly doing something for them or having the obligation triggered.

Taking Duty both ties our actions more closely to the goals of TLB, and makes them more like a benefactor than a debtor. The nature of our individual duties, and the accumulation of duty, in general, create more of a "working for" feeling and means one would expect the majority of missions to be about furthering their goals. It also makes it harder for other, non-TLB factions to be major influencing factors.
