	The gigantic Jericho pilgrim ships are converted refinery vessels. Their huge fuel tanks are rebuilt into hundreds of passenger compartments, and a single ship can hold many thousands of the faithful. 			The ''Penance of Iocanthos'' has served the Cobolt family well for over two dozen generations. In that time she's earned her reputation as a tough and reliable vessel, bravely slogging through dangers and even a few combats with slow resilience. Like many Jericho-class ships, she started her life as a tanker-transport, though her first route was to carry water, rather than promethium, to the desert world of Sitar. In time, she was overshadowed and finally replaced by the larger, more economical Hadrian-class tankers, leading her to the path that many of her sister-ships also took, to become a pilgrimage ship and ply the stars in His name.

 Captain Cobalt herself grew up in this environment, envious of the freedoms and opportunities granted to the Rogue Traders who frequented her home station of Port Wander.  Bestowed with far more ambition then her accepting predecessors, she pushed her ship and crew into more and more dangerous routes, accepting warp-lines that most Free Traders would balk at, all with the intention of building a resume strong enough for a Rogue Trader to consider taking her on as a vassal captain, rather than simply an employee.

 But as the saying goes, it is darkest before the dawn.  Lynara’s fortunes changed when the Aurea Albion emerged from the immaterium.  The newly arrived Rogue Trader Drake was able, with the help of his crew, devise a method of releasing the ships and saving their lives.  During the execution of this daring plan, Lynara met with Aurtoeus and discussed future business arrangements.  Aurtoeus was impressed by her record, as well as her subsequent actions during the escape, and offered her the position she had been striving for – vassalship in the newly ascendant Drake Dynasty.
