This is how mages from each of the other Houses of the Order see the House Bonisagus. It represents what any apprentice learning basic Order of Hermes Lore in Stonehenge, Rhine and Normandy tribunals would pick up and therefore is therefore sketchy, particularly for houses concentrated in far away tribunals.

Bonisagus invented the Hermetic theory of magic, and his student, the maga Trianoma, masterminded the formation of the Order. This history, coupled with the House's unerring commitment to research and the accumulation and preservation of knowledge, means that House Bonisagus has always enjoyed a great deal of respect from other magi. However, many members of this house consider themselves to be of a privileged, gifted elite. This has given them a reputation for snootiness and detachment.

Some Bonisagi refine and expand Hermetic theory, while others oversee the continued political development of the Order. Both types have a strong tradition of using their knowledge and power for the benefit of the Order. Selfishness is strongly discouraged. In 1220, this is one of the smaller houses. This house cannot be joined after being gauntleted into any other.

== Durenmar, The Domus Magna ==

Durenmar, Domus Magna of House Bonisagus, is the oldest covenant of the Order of Hermes. It is the meeting place for gatherings of the Rhine Tribunal and the Grand Tribunal. It is also the home of the Great Library, situated in the Tower of Bonisagus, the repository of the collected knowledge of House Bonisagus and the largest collection of Hermetic books that exists.

Around 754 AD, the Founder Bonisagus moved from his Alpine home to a site in the Black Forest. In 767 the founding of the Order of Hermes was announced and the first tribunal held.
