The Glass Lift

Neanne's glass elevator is comprised of eight separate enchantments and three enchanted items working together.

Cost (pawns):

  • Main Glass Elevator, 10 pawns (5 pawns to open, 5 pawns of enchantments)
  • Lectern with Control Panel, 20 pawns (10 pawns to open, 10 pawns of enchantments)
  • Lamp, 12 pawns (10 pawns to open, 2 pawns of enchantments)
    • TOTAL: 42 pawns (25 pawns to open, 17 pawns of enchantments)

Note: Due to Verditius Magic effects, Neanne was able to accomplish this at a cost of 22 pawns, as House techniques allows considerable savings during the crafting and opening of items.

Main Glass Elevator

(5 pawns opened) w/electrum inlays
Form & Effect bonus: Electrum (MuTe) 4

Grip of the Sure-footed Goat, MuTe 24

(GL 3 slightly unnatural, +1 size, +2 Glass, +2 Sun, +1 level 2 uses/day +3 levels Environmental trigger) = 24 (3 pawns)
This enchants the glass floor to not be slippery so that when it gets wet, or someone tracks in mud or dirt, they won't lose their footing.

Enclosing the Ascending Form, CrTe 18

(GL 3 create glass, +1 elaborate shape/properties, +1 Diameter, +10 levels unlimited uses, +3 linked trigger) = 18 (2 pawns)
This creates a glass door to enclose the lift when it starts moving.

Lectern with Control Panel

(10 pawns opened) w/magnet (Base 5 x Small 2)
Form & Effect bonuses: Brass (terram) 3, Clear Glass (invisibility) 4

Climbing the Lofty Heights, ReTe 20

(GL 2 highly unnatural movement, +1 size, +2 Glass, +1 Diameter, +10 levels unlimited uses ) = 20 (2 pawns)
This is the main enchantment to move the elevator up and down.

Shed the Brittle Form, MuTe 28 (glass as hard as steel)

(GL4 highly unnatural, +1 size, +2 Glass, +2 Sun, +1 level 2 uses/day, +3 levels Environmental trigger) = 28 (3 pawns)
This hardens the structure's glass to be as tough as steel

Losing Sight of the Earth Below, PeIm 23 (invisible floor)

(GL 4, +1 Touch, +1 Diameter, +10 levels unlimited uses, +3 levels linked trigger) = 23 (3 pawns)
While the lift is in motion, the floor of the lift turns invisible.

Opening the Unknown Portal, ReTe 20

(GL 3, +2 Stone +1 Touch, +1 Part, +10 levels unlimited uses) = 20 (2 pawns)
As the lift reaches a landing, this enchantment causes the landing's wall to part and allow passengers on and off. As it is temporary, the landing wall reforms as the lift departs.

Lamp

(10 pawns opened) (Base 5 x Small 2)
Form & Effect bonuses: Lamp (produce light) 7, Aquamarine (water) 3

Illuminating the Flight Above, CrIg 7 (GL 1, +1 Touch, +2 Sun, +3 levels Environmental trigger) = 7 (1 pawn)

At sunset, the lamp emits light so that the lift remains illuminated the entire night.

Turning Aside the Tears of Jupiter, ReAq 8 (GL 1, +1 Touch, +2 Sun, +1 unnatural control, +1 level 2 uses/day, +3 levels Environmental trigger) = 8 (1 pawn)

As it starts to rain, this enchantment kicks in to part the rain around the lift to keep the passengers dry.
