Coinciding with the rise of corporate power, numerous powerful individuals have also exerted influence in the world. Some do so openly, some from the shadows. These individuals have been named 'Dragons' to represent their massive amount of influence. Nearly 20 are known to be 'Great Dragons' who govern systems, mega-corporations, or pan-galactic criminal syndicates.

Great Dragons

This is the breakdown of the known Great Dragons by races:

  • Asari: 4
    • Aria T'Loak of Omega, in control the Omega Nebula and other adjacent sectors, ruling over them as a benevolent dictator
    • Liara T'Soni, the Shadow Broker, controls a small organization but with her elite commandos and immense information network, can influence policy at all levels throughout the galaxy.
  • Turian/Volus: 3
    • The Primarch of Palaven is a Great Dragon due to the hierarchical society and resistance to extraterritorial corporations within the Empire that would fragment the Primarch's power. As a result, he leads a society even more unified than the current krogan society.
    • Two are Volus, one is the current owner of the Saeder-Krupp Corporation (formerly Elkoss Combine Corporation)
  • Salarian: 4
  • Human: 10
    • Humans have done well in the era of corporate expansion, being quick to take advantage of the shifting economic situation and leveraging the galactic good-will for leading the allied forces in the Reaper War.
  • Krogan: 1
    • Urdot Wrex is the krogan "Great Dragon", being the leader of Tuchanka and the now-official leader of the Krogan Dominion
  • Other: 1
    • The Rachni Queen is one by default, being in full command of an entire species and affiliated hive members. She can exert a level of command-and-control unthinkable by any other species
